ArtsCool: Messy Creations

Spend some of the week off school enjoying some messy, creative fun! Aimed for artists aged 6-12, ArtsCool is a great way to create and explore art. The “Messy Art” theme will explore different techniques and some basics of art. We’re talking bubbles, splatters, slime and shadows! (And lots of learning about science, colours and other things too.)

February 18: Slime!
Painters will explore super sense-sational, slippery, sticky, art, and then create a slime-inspired mug. Mess-loving painters will also make their own slime concoctions that they can bring home to enjoy.

February 19: Bubbles!
Artists will explore mix their own bubble solution, and then use it to create a beautiful masterpiece on a cereal bowl. We’ll experiment with other things that fizz and pop too!

February 20: Splatters!
We’ll focus on learning a bit about colours . . . and then throw them! Painters will use the splatter technique on an 8″ tile, and then play with adding their name or favourite word to the top. We’ll learn a bit about the colour spectrum and mixing too.

February 21: Shadows!
Painters will learn a little about shadows, as they create a stunning sunset landscape on a plate. We’ll chat about horizon and perspective too.

Each day includes a snack and craft or experiment. Register for one, or register for them all!
